D7 AAA bracket finally up. Spencer of Pine-Richland loos like #1 seed at 172. To go along with the Three number one seeds in D1.

Interesting article on Nazareth HWT Kinney.

PSU's Cael recruiting him and willing to make Football and Wrestling work.

Wonder why Lafayette then.

Clearly he wanted to stay local because I am sure Penn State offered Football only option as well.

Perhaps he would rather be a big fish in a small pond.

Maybe on the other hand he may just decide after 2 years to transfer to Kehigh after Taylor graduates!!!

Transferring to wrestle? or both? That assumes he would stay active in wrestling over those two years in order to stay somewhat in 'wrestling shape'. Would be very difficult to stop wrestling for 2 years, play football at Laughyette, and then transfer to Lehigh in order to do both.

Meh, maybe he is a lifelong Lafayette fan and this has been his dream from childhood. If he has an affinity for Lafayette we can assume Lehigh wasn't truly on the radar anyway. I wouldn't count on a Lafayette -> Lehigh transfer. Big waste of talent but more fish in the sea. Q-town's Fred Retter was another HW stud last year who dropped wrestling to play football at Kutztown. We move on. I know Lachman's small but I'm digging his trajectory over the past two years. Kid is all in on this.

Back to the Southeast Regionals

Ziegler and Lachman (Quakertown) are both through to the semis with 2 pins apiece. Sadriddinov also makes it to the semis with 2 pins.

Vaughn Spencer wins 1st 2 by pins also and is in the SF in the SW Region
Seamus Mack already won the SC Regional last week and qualifies for the PIAA Tournament.

Kinney can do all the wrestling he wants at LVWC. All he has to do is show up at a USA Wrestling event and place and he is right back into the discussion. He may never even have to wrestle college. His goal is NFL. He is good enough at any point to choose to come back to freestyle at any point or to NCAA wrestling at any point. It is obvious now that he is on a path to make a name for himself in football. In era of portal, all he needs is one good year at Lafayette and he is somewhere else in the big time.

Do not underestimate this kid. He is still a young man who still has not emerged into a a grown mature man. So he will be much bigger at DT which is what I understand is where Lafayette will play him. Iowa and Penn State football wanted him at guard or center.

The results speak for themselves, but he's built like the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Did not Nazareth have HWT state champ about 10 years ago, who signed with Iowa, But immediately went on a religous mission, and never wrestled for Iowa? Sort of like Mele, except he eventually wrestled for Northwestern(?).
