Davis could go out early. In his second bout he probably has Peterson, who he recently eked out a win over after a controversial favorable call, and then a hot Figueroa.
NCAA Brackets Selection Show - 8 p.m.

My exact thought. I watched the start of the BB game at BoU and the n announcers talked about how tough it is to beat a close to equal 3 times in a year.
Crookham walked onto the mat in Stllwater fix did not. That should count for something

This is the one that jumped out at me. Starocci drops to #8 for 2 inj defaults, but Conigliaro is at #5 after 2 losses to a .500 wrestler??Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 9:28 pm How does Conigliaro from Harvard still get the 5 seed after losing 2 matches to a 14-12 Benny Baker at EIWA’s and placing 4th?
4th in his own conference tournament and it wasn’t a strong weight for the EIWA to begin with and he’s 5th seed at nationals??…..NCAA really needs to study their formulas…..
Re: NCAA Brackets Selection Show - 8 p.m.
At the EIWA’s, as soon as there was separation between the wrestlers, ref would blow the whistle and reset them in the center. There had to be contact between the wrestlers at all time.
So as fast as I know, the answer to your question is No.

Starocci is the #9. It’s a mathematical equation, for which he didn’t contribute 20% of the input parameters. It made perfect sense. The committee did the right thing and followed the established and agreed upon protocol- not they had any choice in the matter.JAD77 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 9:08 amThis is the one that jumped out at me. Whatever the formula is, didn't work very well this year......on top of Baker beating Conigliaro twice, you also have to look at who Conigliaro wrestled in all his other matches, sure he only had 1 loss prior but he didn't exactly wrestle a daunting schedule.........lu_alum wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 9:49 amStarocci is the #9. So forget Starocci, how does Conigliaro end up 5 seed? No conference championship, bad late season losses, wrestled a weak schedule all year and got majored in his only really tough match during the season (lost to Ruth 13-4)......I mean he's wrestlestat #20, there is a reason for that.......
Re: NCAA Brackets Selection Show - 8 p.m.
No disrespect to Max Leete, but it's about the most bogus ruling I've ever seen. He's looking back to his coach for bench instructions; he sees good enough. Absurd to penalize his opponent. If he can't see a guy 6 feet away, maybe he shouldn't be wrestling. I don't blame Vito one bit for being frustrated -- he kept his composure pretty well. Leete is a badger -- best to put the wood to him early and take him out of the match. TD, tilt, E, TD, tilt, E TD --- 17-2 TF before you know it. That's what I'd do. Crookham has the tools to do it. Otherwise, our guy will expend a ton of energy he'll need in 2 rd.
Re: NCAA Brackets Selection Show - 8 p.m.
Yeah that is bogus since it takes out a chunk of his opponents arsenal and forces them into an area he is highly specialized in. Great that a visually impaired guy is wrestling, but he should not be handed advantages.
I see everyone thinks the seeding committee is a failure. Fix skates into the finals because he did not wrestle - crazy. Seeding does help, but on the flip side, crazy things happen and suddenly someone is facing a top seed in the consolation bracket. All anyone can do is accept it and go on the mat looking to win every time.

Carter Bailey wrestled Leete last year and majored him 12-1 at EIWA's.........were they wrestling under these rules then? I don't remember the match......
