Huge Test @ 133

Post by mookie » Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:02 am

Crookham's biggest threat will not be from Vito or Fix. Nasir Bailey the #7 seed from Little Rock will be a huge hurdle. They'll most likely meet in the quarters. Super-fast & strong, he has the perfect style to defeat Ryan.

I don't plan on watching it.

YOU of all people Mookie,..what a WUSS!

I also watched Bailey at PAC12 tourney, and he's a big 133LBS. Believe Ryan's TOO slick for the kid.

**** Mookster: Why would you not want to watch it? It will be a very good test for Ryan. As you said Bailey is both very quick and strong. Is he quick enough to penetrate Ryan's strong defense and ability to foil quick shots? Is he strong enough to overpower Ryan? Ryan is a horse himsel and not many can match his strength.

Only one way of finding out, wrestle the match. Since it will be a really strong challenge, why would you not want to see it? Either way it will be very good for Ryan to see the combination of speed and strength. That is exactly what Ryan will face if he makes to finals against Fix.

I agree. Bailey is a dangerous, but so are several other guys. Not a guy to 'fear' -- just a guy you bring your A-game to. Teske will be tough in R2.

The age old admonishment to WRESTLE/focus on one-match-at-a-time can not be over-emphasized at this juncture!

Vito won that matchup over Bailey, 4-0...

... but it got a bit chippy in the end.

Stanich vs Michael "The Beard" DeAugustino will also be quite the challenge.

While DeAugustino has placed a couple of times, he's not wrestled like an AA this year....hence his low seed. Stanich, on the other hand, is a rising star. Unless something drastic happens, Stanich will, advance to the quarters.

Is this your passive/agressive way of saying Stanich could lose to #31? Of course he could, everybody is good.
