BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!
BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!
If the NCAA seeding committee was infallible (and there were no bonus matches),
Lehigh would win the nine team horse race for 3rd:
1) PSU 133.5
2) OKST 84
3) LEH 58.5
4) NCST 57
5) ASU 55
6) IOWA 53.5
7) ISU 52.5
8) NEB 51.5
9) CORN 50.5
10) MIZZ 49
11) VT 48
Why do I keep hearing Robert Goulet's voice singing!!!!
I can't wait until noon when Jake Logan begins Lehigh climb to the Top Ten.

And they should accumulate a good number of bonus points. They have the potential. I hope it works, but keeping focused on round one now.

Then reality set in.
Re: BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!
Yes, it did. Unfortunately, our lower seeds had a bad day.
After this AM round, I am projecting LEHIGH to be in 13Th place.
Per the seeds, Stanich will win 2, Beard & Crookham will make it to the Blood Round.
I believe Top 10 is still a possibility. Will try to do another analysis after this AM round.

Re: BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!
I admire the optimism but you guys are killin me with these predictions. All 4 matches this round are against absolute killers and are toss-ups. Elam is a fixture at Mizzou. Taylor hasnt been able to touch Schultz - not even Wood could do it. We shouldn't undersell the challenge these guys are facing. Other than Vito Crookham has not wrestled anyone like Bailey who is surging right now. If we get some wins here it means our guys have truly broken through as world-class. No expectations - all hope.

Neither is Camacho, who was ranked #1 at one point this season.JAD77 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 10:46 amNagao wasn't exactly chopped chicken liver.martinsilvestri wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 10:25 amOther than Vito Crookham has not wrestled anyone like Bailey who is surging right now.

Re: BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!
Yea I get that and figured that might be the pushback, however Nagao is out already and has taken some other tough losses since. Bailey is also unique in his speed as others have pointed out. Either way my point in all of this is to say - a win over any of these top 10 guys is a herculean feat, especially for a freshman. Underestimating this based on seeding is a recipe for either disappointment or underappreciation IMO

Expect better......don't be pessimistic and then just be okay when they lose.....it's a sad way to be a fan

But this post got me thinking:
How good are the seedings? Anyone bored enough to see how accurate they are this year compared to prior years?
It'd be interested to see how close and consistent they are year to year in March Madness, too.
