Next year Aaron Brooks, Trent Hidlay, Lou DePrez, Jacob Cardenas, and Tanner Sloan will all be gone. Rocky Elam back - but the weight definitely clears out for Beard somewhat.

It's great he made AA, but I (and I'm sure he) was hoping for a higher finish - a little bit of vindication for last year.

Man, you forget how brutal this round really is… I feel for Nate, but hope he realizes what a great year he had. Stanich wrestled of his mind through the consis. It’s a cliche to say ‘I just wanted to have fun out there’, but that’s exactly how it looked. And, may the wrestling gods have Vito smash Fix.

Will be interesting to see if Beard comes back next year, already have been rumors he wouldn’t be…… if he has to undergo surgery on knee/rehab and so on I could see him deciding another year of wrestling and risking reinjury is just not worth it after 6 years…..

Or he may see the weight as you said “clearing out” and want to give it one last shot…….

Either way he has been a great get for the Lehigh program…..

Stanich will be up against Barnett who he beat 8-5 way back in the day (feels like it anyway) to initially establish himself at the top of 125. If he beats him again he'll face the winner of Noto and Smith (rematch from r1) for 3rd, or the loser of that match for 5th. Barnett beat Smith round 2. Figueroa who beat Luke at ASU will be wrestling for the championship tonight. Tough day ahead either way. 125 has been quite a ride.

People have been sort of complaining about 125 all year with so many guys being ranked #1 then dropping back. To me, that's way more interesting than having one dominant guy. 125 was a blast to follow. IMO.

W over Chumbley from NW 9-1
W over Swenson from SDSU 1-0
W by fall over Ed Scott from NC State in 1:09
W over Peyton Robb from Nebraska 12-10
Add pinning Andonian to that list - pretty amazing
