Columbia Head Coach Opening

Brad Dillon would be perfect. Maybe not a NYC guy but still qualified and here's his chance before the window closes.

Ideas on possible replacements?

If you are referring to a Dillon replacement, yes, elevate ZRey and Evan Henderson and hire a new guy.....plenty to choose from.

There have been many openings through the years, I just wonder how many Brad has put in for if any. Yes, a AD coach in his 40s, now is about the time to pull the string. Then he can push at Columbia to rejoin the EIWA. :D

NYC is actually a commutable distance, so he can commute if he does not want to disrupt family life. Get a shared apartment or potentially even Columbia can provide an apartment. They are doing massive housing projects in Manhattanville section near Washington Heights.

Having a strong wrestling background would be a major asset on the Columbia campus these days.

A board having the integrity to fire the President would be an even bigger asset.

I don't know. There's got to be a reason HALF of the ivy men's wrestling coaches have fled within the past two seasons. I get the feeling something bad is brewing in the ivy conference, whatever may be happening behind the scenes.

Ok. Yeah, maybe Tanelli 'fled' but Roger stepped aside for a younger guy and Ayers took a step up -- can't really say they "fled." Koll left because the Ivies cancelled his season when they had a great team -- pissed him off. Stanford was not exactly a bad job. Of course, he's back at his alma mater and seemingly happy. I don't see a conspiracy theory like you do.

Ayres took a step up, in strength of Athletic program.

But he may be the only coach to take a step down academically by going to Stanford.

Really? When you get to that level of excellence, it can hardly be regarded as a step down.

The way I always heard it was Stanford out west, Notre Dame in the middle and Harvard back east.
