Wonderful article in the Portland Tribune and some well deserved PR for Rich Haas too. http://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/210605-66426-cj-writes-his-own-script

Thanks TMH. I certainly noticed. In addition to Mo Williams being out, I think that the 2/5 game against the Knicks when CJ never got off the bench changed his outlook. I have a (totally unsubstantiated) feeling that CJ said to himself ‘if I’m not going to play anyway, I might as well be aggressive and do waht got me here.” In the three games since (including the two you mentioned above), he is 15-28 and 7-13 from three. I read that Mo Williams rejoined the Blazers last ngiht. Hopefully CJ earned some more confidence from the coaches during his absence, but I think the rotation is probably going to get shuffled yet again.

I’m not sure how many people noticed but with Mo Williams out indefinitely due to the death of his sister, CJ has really taken advantage of the extended minutes. 2/8 Minnesota 28 min 19 points 3 rebounds 3 assists 2 steals
2/11 OK City 27 min 15 points 1 rebound 3 assists 2 steals Turnovers are a bit of a problem yet as he adjust to the speed of the game but the prognosis is very good.

C.J.'s back, and in a big way. Leading scorer with 27 last night in OKC rout of the Thunder. And as always with C.J., less talk and all business.

He had 33 in an earlier game in the series. Hope they can get by the Thunder so he can get more exposure. West coast times hide a lot of players.

CJ was ON FIRE big time last night. Came through BIG when DL started forcing it.

What a game from CJ in the 7th game of the Western semi-finals.

37 points on 17-29 including the game clincher plus 9 boards and a Sports Center chase down block

and then there's this quote

McCollum replied, "Honestly, I got enough motivation. I got it out of the mud. I went Lehigh University, you know what I’m saying?"

His voice cracked as he continued.

"No one’s ever been drafted from there before," said McCollum, who Portland selected 10th overall in 2013 draft. "So for me, it’s about showing what I can do every night and keeping the door open for the next mid-major."

Congratulations CJ!!

Unreal performance. Best player on the floor the entire second half in a game 7? Good for the man.

You knew he was feeling it with the chase down block and that dunk. There was no regular season "saving your legs" in this game. It was full beast mode.

Credit to the blazers (and Lillard) for riding McCollum for some clutch buckets in the 4th and not deferring to Dame who has hit some huge shots but didn't have his best tonight. Nice that he didn't insist on trying to be the hero - good culture they have going on in Portland.
