Women's Soccer Commit-2022

Post by TMH » Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:05 pm

Sophia Lis, A, Princeton HS, NJ

Sophia may be our next big recruit out of New Jersey

She has led her HS to the State finals on Sunday by scoring virtually all their goals in the playoffs. So far this season she has 37 goals and 21 assists. Last season after missing the 1st month of the season to injury, she scored hat tricks in her 1st 2 games back.

Sophia Lis was just named 1st Team All-State All Divions

Sophia Lis, Princeton, Sr.
Position: Forward

2021 stats: 38 goals, 21 assists

2021 breakdown: Lis was one of the elite scoring threats in the state and she helped Princeton make history this fall. The Lehigh commit scored goals in her last 16 games, including a goal in the Group 3 championship game. Lis scored four game-winning goals in the state playoffs. The senior had both goals in a 2-0 upset win over Hopewell Valley in the Central, Group 3 final and then added the winning score in overtime against Lacey in the group semifinals. Lis came to play each and every game and delivered. The senior had 14 multi-goal games for the Tigers.

Better question is what do soccer players do on their club teams? Nowadays many soccer academies will not let their players participate in high school sports.

I think that is a bigger issue with guys than girls. Most but certainly not all girls play both. Sophia played for the Players Development Academy (Blue North) in the ECNL Elite Clubs National League. Here is some Hudl tape on her there. By the way she is 6'1" which seems really tall for a Forward

Dakota Russell, F, MF, BRYC Elite Academy, VA

Very little information since she played for an academy, at which she was the leading scorer. Rated a *** recruit by Top Drawer Soccer

Paige Christakos, D, Chaparell HS, Scottsdale, AZ

Older sister played for Bucknell (2nd team All-PL)

Paige Christakos captains Chaparral and has a 4.9 GPA.
As a defender, Christakos doesn’t have the same eye-popping stats as some of her teammates on Chaparral, which is consistently among the state’s best programs. But for four years, she’s been an anchor at the center of the Firebirds’ back line.

Now, as a senior, she’s the team captain and leads a defense that’s conceded just nine goals in 11 games.
