Offensive Line

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Offensive Line

Post by RichH » Wed Aug 14, 2019 3:38 pm

TG seems optimistic particularly with all the experience returning.
OTs. Fournier at LT and Motley
OGs. Rosen at LG. Curlin/ Gurth. Curlin may be the swing T as he was prior to injury.
C. Fest. Noticed Kempsey got a lot of reps at C also.
Jackson likely backing Rosen again. Oneidas back up G again.
Backups at OT speculation for now. Guess Fris and Maciejewski.

So long as the injury bug doesn't hit the OL should be good. Last year felt very much like 2014 when things fell apart up front.

With our RBs this line should be able to get them some daylight. Need to run to take pressure off Monaco--especially early in the season as he gets acclimated.

ngineer must know something we don’t? Was Monaco named QB? Please see Penn State battle between Levis and Clifford...most importantly Franklin’s comments regarding competing. 3-8 team doesn’t need a “de facto” QB.

since Monaco was #2 last year, seems resonable to assume him #1 this year unless Shoup/Beesmer has greatly improved or the FR is lights out, either of which would be great news

I wasn’t aware that was how it works in competitive, championship programs. I think we may have a soph too?

Monaco as a senior should have a priority but not a guarantee. Beesmer is very talented and may indeed be the next guy up. Shoup is no slouch.
Little experience in this group.
If its close do you go with the senior with at least some experience or with an equally talented underclassman to build for the future.

Well said! TG has to create competition every single day! No complacency, no hand outs. Identify the kids who want to compete every day and make them your leaders! The rest will follow. Culture.
