Match notes are posted

Who gets the start at 133, Farro or Jaret Lane?

Some good opportunities for Lehigh wrestlers with these match-ups but it probably will take the perfect storm to upset Okie State.

Watched a couple videos on Flo this morning of Journeymen bouts that I missed last weekend. Farro got put on his back twice - once by Rutgers recruit Alvarez and once by ASU's Kramer - neither exactly a big college star. Thinking I'd prefer to see Lane against OSU.

Oklahoma State match notes for the Drexel dual are here: https://okstate.com/documents/2019/11/1 ... f?id=23167

They have a lot of either/or entries -- maybe looking to rest some starters against Drexel, or else dealing with dings like everyone else.

I don't know. Lane won the Princeton Open against a soft field. Farro faced four tough guys in the JCC and beat two of them. Kramer's a 5th-yr senior who's now ranked 15th by Intermat; Alvarez is a true frosh, 3x NJ state finalist, once champ, Flo #34 overall recruit; he won the group and is now ranked 20th. Not thrilled that Farro yielded two 4-pt NF's, but we don't know how Lane would have done. I guess we find out this year how good the two of them are.

Pure speculation based on observation at practices this week but I think Farro. (I didn't ask anyone and I don 't believe they worked out together while I was there)

Flowrestling hinted about an article that came out locally in Oklahoma, that Gfeller and Smith may have academic issues. They both still plan on traveling with the team.

Farro's first three bouts were at 9:00 abut 9:35 and about 10:10. I don't think they handled that bracket correctly

It should be:

Subsession 1: 2 bouts in each of the 5 man r-r bracket

S2: 2 bouts in each of the 6 man brackets, 1 in each of the 3 sub brackets--- and--- 2 bouts in 3/4 of the 4 man brackets.

S 3: 2 bouts in each of the 5 man r-r bracket

S4: 2 bouts in each of the 6 man brackets, 1 in each of the 3 sub brackets--- and--- 2 bouts in 3/4 of the 4 man brackets.

S 5: 2 bouts in each of the 5 man r-r bracket

S6: 2 bouts in each of the 6 man brackets, 1 in each of the 3 sub brackets--- and--- 2 bouts in 3/4 of the 4 man brackets.

S 7: 2 bouts in each of the 5 man r-r bracket

S8: 3 bouts in each of the 6 man brackets, the [lace bouts--- and--- 2 bouts in 3/4 of the 4 man brackets.

S 9: 2 bouts in each of the 5 man r-r bracket

Lehigh Keys to Victory
125 Paetzell keeps it to a decision
133 we need Farro to pull it out
141 not counting on a win here but if Gfeller doesn't go, we could get one
149 again keeping it to a decision vs Lewallen
157 need Humphreys to reverse last years sv loss
165 not counting on a win here but Meyer will have a shot
174 Kutler with a win over Smith and if no Smith we need a bonus point here
184 Weiler got majored last feb, needs to keep it to a reg decision
197 need a Jake win 100%
285 Wood will win and he may be required to bonus or more

all that and we get a 5-5 split and win it on bonus points.

Key weights: 133, 157, 197 and the presence or not of Gfeller and J Smith

This will upset the old guard but it's rare that Lehigh pulls upsets. Seems close is usually acceptable against top 10 teams, then move on to EIWA schedule.

Academic issues at Oklahoma State? They must be kidding!
