Mat-Town Open I

Post by jdalu75 » Sun Dec 01, 2019 10:27 am

Tournament is under way; Flowrestling is posting results but there's no "live" coverage or bout details. Small turnout; some weights are wrestling round robins, not brackets. Polito, Lane, Karam, Frinzi, and Lacombe all weighed in.

133 first round: Polito lost 6-0 to CJ Manley of Lock Haven. Manley's a 3x PA AAA placewinner, 37-14 in college, spent a year at Virginia Tech before transferring. Lane WBF 1:33 over Tommy Maddox of Buffalo. Maddox is a freshman, 6-6 this year so far, a NY state qualifier.

149 QF: Karam tech falls Kyle Todrank of Buffalo; next meets Lock Haven's Collin Glorioso.

285 QF: Lacombe decisions Nolan Terrance of Buffalo 3-2; next meets Sean Mullican of UWV.

Karam will be meeting Glorioso, who I hope isn't into cracking ribs and gouging eyes like his "Funny Thing ...."namesake, in the semi's.

No updates recently. I hope this isn't one of those tournaments where the updates stop completely, then the final brackets suddenly appear around dinnertime.

Nope --

133 2nd round: Polito pins Maddox in 4:14. Lane falls to Manley 4-3.

165 QF: Frinzi falls to Caleb Clymer of Lock Haven, 6-1.

285 SF: Lacombe advances by decision, 3-2, over Mullican. Meets Seth Nevills of Penn State in the finals.

165 consis: Frinzi falls 6-5 to Dillon Ross of Buffalo.

Results are showing up sporadically -- no update in the 165 consis, then suddenly two rounds reported. No idea where things stand currently.

285 finals: Lacombe drops a 3-0 decision to Seth Nevills.

149 semis: Karam beats Gloriso 6-1.
149 finals: Karam WTF 16-0 over Brock Port of Lock Haven.

133 3rd round: Polito med forfeited to Lane.

Brock Port, Mitchell's brother. State runnerup to Verkeleen, very slightly better w-L than Mitchell (champ). Jr year he beat Edmond Ruth for 7th (ER Frosh year)

I don't have a garage. They were done very quickly considering the weather in the driveway.

Maybe if Stabler's 85F for EIWAs we can do that from your home too.
