Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

We had a decent lead midway thru the half at Annapolis and then went cold for almost 10 minutes. Jordan did not look himself at Annapolis. And only played 25 minutes. Karnik also was only 2-7. If James isn't back tomorrow we will need the kiddie corps to step up again with Fenton, Taylor, and Alamudun crashing the boards with Nic & J. Wilson.

And now putting the cart before the horse, what will it take to get the third seed in the playoffs, thus avoiding 'Gate until the championship game? The KenPom differential between teams 2 thru 8 in this league is relatively small. And we are getting better. If James can come back strong it could be interesting for us.

Hopefully we can get further insight from Lehigh65. And get the W tomorrow night.

My 2 cents - 3rd is a bit ambitious. I think 4 is a reasonable target, especially with the new ?? around JK.
It REALLY pains me to say this, but I don't think we can bank on a win vs. Easton Junior College in either location this year.
I also think American is better than we saw, but I have a history of over-rating them too.

Oh, and by the way, speaking of the maroon spotted feline from Easton.....they took down Colgate this afternoon 71-67. AP reporting The Raiders of the Chenango Valley blew a 13 point lead with 6:45 remaining. Very impressed with them last year when they gave us fits both games, even while out manned. Particularly impressed with Jaworski.

They will obviously be a tough out for everyone.

The biggest difference in this game was the lack of depth underneath due to Karnik's injury. Yes,
Navy shot the ball well from outside but so did Lehigh. When Lynch was forced to leave the game with foul trouble, Navy produced two guys from nowhere who for this night both looked and played like Sestina. They simply had their way inside against Lehigh's small lineup. I think Deaver, a freshman with 2 starts had about 20 points at halftime. When he wasn't in the game Loehr, who averaged less than 5 ppg became unstoppable. We had nothing to address that level of physicality underneath.
Just my opinion.

Skyways were open last night for both teams (Navy 45%....Lehigh 60% !) from 3 land. But partly due to defensive discipline evaporating in the second half. Two Navy freshman totaled 44 points. Midshipmen had been averaging 61 points per game. Defensive dumpster fire at home. And we missed a bunch of peeps underneath. Ugh......
