I really like this pickup. He seems to be a late bloomer. Scring, RBs and assists jumped in junior year. 4.0 GPA.
I would if he grew another inch or two. We seem to be stockpiling 6-4 or 6-5 combo F/G.

Welcome aboard Jakob.

Finally #2. We have done very well with kids from California. Also agree he looks like a high ceiling prospect who can score and add some muscle at #3. Do we have an idea of how many we are looking for in this class? I think we have room for two more. And welcome to Lehigh Jakob Alamudun !!!

My guess is 3 to fill in for loss of Leufroy, Tejada and Sedore. We look to be running light at only 11 scholarships at the moment. Foley, Wolf and Acoveno are WO.

We never backfilled from the losses by transfer of Jenkins, Alston and Holba. Now, lost Sedore, and not sure if Lieb will ever play.

Also, isn't Andree likely graduating this year, and transferring to be immediately eligible somewhere else (a la Alston)?

We could technically have room for 5 or 6, depending on Lieb health.

The last I heard, Andree was intending to graduate this year but had his eye on a graduate program at Lehigh. Then there is the matter of a GF still at Lehigh. Of course all of that is subject to change.

Historically, Coach has always honored a scholarship in spite of injury. I suspect that Lieb will keep his until he graduates but that is conjecture.

I think the # could be either 3 or 4 depending onwhether we are going with 11 or 12 now, always a question.

I guess we are still at 12 scholarships if Sedore still on campus. But, he should graduate this Spring. So, 3 for sure leaving. Lieb still rostered, so hopeful he sees the floor this season.

I will guarantee that Reed will honor the scholarship. He could never recruit another player if he didn't honor it. Unless there is another issue as well, virtually all coaches honor the scholarship for an injured player. If the player is permanently injured, it doesn't count against the scholarship limit, so he can re-use the scholarship while still allowing the player to finish his degree.

That is probably true in the Patriot League but I was amazed to find out that basketball scholarships were on a year to year basis for most D-1 colleges. When my son went to Duquesne, they regularly "lost" 4-5 underclassmen every year. They weren't all voluntary. Based on the # of transfers every year, that's not an isolated problem.

Yes, most schools do not offer four-year scholarships. That is true of the PL, although I believe only two PL schools have ever non-renewed a basketball scholarship (or got a player to transfer by threatening to do so). And I know that tons of players have had their scholarships non-renewed at various schools. However I was talking about non-renewing the scholarship of an injured player who can no longer compete. I am not aware of any player in that situation ever having his scholarship non-renewed. There really is no competitive reason to do so, since his scholarship would no longer count against the schools scholarship limit.
