Stanford
Re: Stanford
Down from ~44. They always use to make sure they had one or two more than Harvard, maybe they cut back when they when their first national title (W-VB i think)
Re: Stanford
I remember reading an article, probably in Sports Illustrated more than 30 years ago, about their program. One student-athlete was quoted as saying that, if a single student showed interest in a sport, MIT would find a coach for him somewhere. I guess they cut that out.

1-Princeton

3-Columbia
3-MIT
3-Yale
6-Stanford
6-Chicago
6-Penn
9-Northwestern
10-Duke
10-Johns Hopkins
.... if I ever had the chance, I'd tell US News they're full of spit for 1.) ranking Stanford #6 and 2.) the pc absurdity of clumping 3 schools together in ties, by claiming they're somehow exactly equal. For the record, balance of Ivies: 12-Dartmouth; 14-Brown; 17-CU tied w/Rice

Re: Stanford
The buzzards are circling Stanford's wrestling carcass. Shane Griffith from Bergen Catholic would be a nice add.
Re: Stanford
**** What are the rules regarding contacting athletes of sports being cut?
Re: Stanford
I don't think it's significantly different given the portal. The kid goes in the portal and can then be contacted. And assuming you're talking about Stanford, they aren't cut until after 20/21.

Re: Stanford
All I know is we could use their 165 who is from NJ.
Re: Stanford
Maybe Borelli will pull a UNebOmaha, and take the whole team elsewhere. It would be areal good chance to restart the Yale team. Maybe Rice or Vandy
I am sorry, Maybe they don't have the breadth of other schools, but Cal Tech required everyone to take the SAT Math 2 achievement test. (a couple of years ago. MIT most assuredly did not.The universe from which they can select students is the smallest in the country. Meanwhile Stanford selected an athlete Student who never made distinguish honors in HS, Never the national Honor Society, never even the regular honor roll. Soneone you know from Football Wrestling and TV("hell of a nice guy but..")
