Navy Match next Saturday
Re: Navy Match next Saturday
I didn't watch all of the Pitt match on Youtube, but what I saw was similar to what I saw live at the VMI-Sacred Heart dual. Lots of one-dimensional wrestling, lack of follow-up to initial moves; guys on top couldn't turn guys on bottom, guys on bottom couldn't get out. I kept thinking that this is what the first or second week of practice looks like. Nobody's in mid-season form.

Pitt didn't look rusty.
I saw part of an interview with Wentzel after their Navy match (which I can't now locate) in which he said that thanks to some accommodation by the university his team had been able to train preseason for considerably longer than other teams.

Re: Navy Match next Saturday
Hines looked very, very good. Very quick and slick. And if it is true that he is cutting a lot to make 133, then it is certainly understandable that he tired in the third period against the #4 ranked wrestler.
Re: Navy Match next Saturday
Was Pitt's second match. And they appear to have pretty much their tournament team wrestling right now. Navy didn't have theirs against Pitt, did against Clarion. I'll be very surprised if the lineup we sent out against Pitt is our EIWA team.whiz wit wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 3:56 pm Pitt didn't look rusty.

American University hasn't even been able to start practice yet.

Thanks Legger. My email to you bounced.
Re: Navy Match next Saturday
Another 8-2 dual. Just like Pitt LU wins 125 & 149 and then drives home.
Re: Navy Match next Saturday
Navy preview and Match Notes are up. Some reinforcements on the way.

Re: Navy Match next Saturday
Still curious as to no mention of Moran, Ruth and Karam.
