One thing I'm concluding is ... don't trust W-L records this year. Or, trust them less than usual. First, every bout wrestled by an EIWA guy this year was against a Div I opponent; but teams were looking to wrestle anyone close that had an open date, so a lot of the matchups wouldn't happen in a more normal year. Then there are teams (Navy is a good example) that worked in a lot of extra bouts for their starters. So the starter wrestled the opposing team's starter and backup the same day. A 4-1 record turns into a 7-1 record and looks more impressive.

There were very few bouts against CP-ranked opponents. Here's how that looks, for whatever it's worth.

125: Chauvin 0-3, Roes 1-0, Seidman 0-1, Waterman 0-2, Lane 2-0, Cockrell 0-2, Treaster 0-1.
133: Montgomery 1-0, Miller 1-0, Hines 0-1, Matthews 0-1, Allen 0-2, Randall, 0-1.
141: Peters 0-1, Trampe 0-1, Phipps 0-2, McGonagle 0-3, Witham 0-1, Trybus 2-0.
149: PJ 2-0, Kolonia 0-1, Nichter 1-0, Hoffman 1-3, Cobb 2-0.
157: Hartman 0-1, Barker 0-1, Delp 0-2, Heller 2-0, Frinzi 0-1, Royster 0-2, Palumbo 0-1.
165: The Other Hartman 1-0, Meyer 0-2, Ferro 0-1, Skidgel 0-1, Schmidt 0-3.
174: O'Malley 2-0, McFarland 0-1, Logan 0-2.
184: Brown 0-2, The Third DePrez 2-0, Guida 0-1, Stillings 0-1, Small 0-1, Langan 0-1, Key 1-0.
197: Another Brown 1-1, The Fourth DePrez 0-2, McCready 0-3, Rogers 0-1, Jakobsen 1-3, Franden 0-4, Koser 1-2.
285: Heald 1-2, Crosby 0-2, Z K-W 0-1, Wood 1-1, Nagosky 0-3, Birchmeier 1-0, Blokh 0-1.

Not trying to knock guys; it's just in this season there wasn't much opportunity to wrestle stronger opposition.

So who do you like? A guy who's 5-1 but 0-1 against ranked guys, or a guy who's 2-3 but 1-2 against ranked guys? Hint: there's no right answer.

As with everything else, things are a little different this year. I'm hoping to have all the ballots from the pre-seed committee tonight. The coaches are meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss, challenge, submit replacements, etc. So I'm not going to release anything until after the coaches have their say tomorrow; I don't see any sense wasting time on a release tonight when it's just going to change in 18 hours.

Did I miss something? Why isn't Brandon Paetzell wrestling?

Current info as to starting time, any breaks and, if so, when and their duration, and finishing time?

**** If he can make 133 but not 125, maybe: d) cannot beat Hines or e) dinged up in practice other and unable to go or f) dinged up and could be a last minute Replacement at the seeding meeting if he has recovered.

I have a feeling from what I’ve read that Paetzell is a man without a home.....can’t make 125, can’t beat Hines at 133 and can’t beat McGonagle at 141 .... 141 is a big weight jump for him, you could see it against the UNC wrestler with his inability to finish shots and inability to hold top position at all....

Brandon wasn't eligible for 133 after his one weigh in.
