Re: GAME !: MONMOUTH
what a great win, this team could be something special this year, love the depth, Lynch the real deal and was impressed with Foley as well, love the commitment to defense and now have the depth to really work hard on the defensive end every possession

Re: GAME !: MONMOUTH
Got the 7 day free trial on ESPN +, and obviously glad I did. As usual you're never as good as things look on your best day, and not as bad as you look on your worst day. But this was an impressive road performance no matter how it gets sliced. Really good defensive pressure coupled with the career 31 point Pat Andree show. Cohen more than solid as expected. Leuroy with several key rebounds and reached the 1,000 point career milestone in the second half.
But to me the big story from a team perspective was our 47 to 28 rebounding edge. For those who didn't see the box yet: team rebounding; Leuroy 9, Andree 8, Karnik 6, Cohen 5, Freshman J. Wilson 5. And as to the new faces..... Joe Foley an unspectacular 5 relief minutes, Jeameril Wilson big on boards as mentioned & generally solid underneath. And then the big guy. He is big, and fairly mobile. Initial appearance of Nic Lynch: 9 minutes produced 4 fouls, 3 rebounds, 2 turnovers, but 5-7 from the floor, including an effortless first of the season dunk. May be an important piece already in year one if he can overcome the usual freshman foul syndrome.
I have no illusions about the next game. But this one really felt good. I have 6 more days on the free ESPN+ trial, so I'll be curiously watching Friday night to see how these kids do against a very athletic 18 point (Kenpom) favorite. On to South Beach!!!
