Commentary

Lehigh and Navy, tied at the top in the PL Standings at 2-0, finally take to the road in Game 3, while LC, BUCKY, and HC make their home debuts on Wednesday. Home teams are off to an 8 and 2 after two League games and, if you believe in what Pomeroy is dishing out for Game 3, they’ll be 13 and 2 following play tomorrow night. I know it’s early, but should all the home teams win tomorrow night, there’ll be a six-way tie at the top of the league with each sporting a 2-1 record. Were we the only visitor to sneak by and post a “W,” we’d sit alone atop the League Standings at 3-0. Yeah, I know IT IS EARLY but it is fun to speculate.

Here’s a quick look at how Crusaders got to be 1-1 in League play. Which Crusader team will show up tomorrow night?

Navy takes down Holy Cross in Game 2 as the Crusaders struggled shooting the ball, making 36.7 percent of their field goals and 25.0 percent of their three-pointers on the afternoon.

Holy Cross beats down Loyola in Opener making 51% of their FG attempts (44.4% from long range) and records assists on 19 of 25 made field goals in the Season Opener

My wish for tomorrow night would simply be, get me to...........

the Foul Line where...
Lehigh is 17th in the Nation having converted 76.7% of their tries and, in PL play alone, have found success on 85% of their attempts

the 3-pt. arc where...
Lehigh is tops the nation at converting 46.7% of their attempts and, in PL play alone, the Mountain Hawks lead hitting on 61.3% of their tries after two games

The Patriot League is all about getting a decent playoff seed and getting hot at the end. Even though its early, a win in Worcester would give me a lot more confidence for that late run. Interesting contrast in styles. According to Pomeroy The Cross is the slowest paced team in the league and the most defensively efficient. We are the most offensively efficient, and nearly the fastest paced team in the circuit.

Nice and calm over here compared to the fireworks over at football.

This may be the biggest barometer game thus far this season. I'm not sure we beat anyone we didn't expect to beat, nor did we lose to anyone we didn't expect to lose to. A win in their house would be a good sign of this team's capabilities.

BTW, the South Side Boosters are hosting a dinner with both the Men's and Women's basketball teams this Sunday. Anyone have a question for me to ask?

Hello TMH. If it can be asked discretely, when is Marques expected back?

LOL,
I've never really been good with discretion but that was going to be my #1 question. :-)

The South Side Boosters is a 40 + year organization that supports Lehigh athletics. It's a wonderful group. They run road trips to all the away football games. They have a wonderful banquet in April where they honor many of our scholar athletes, a pizza party before a basketball game and recently they added a dinner at Goosey Ganders with the Men's and Women's basketball teams.

Membership is cheap...around $25-$30 (can't remember). The affairs are more than reasonable and a great way to interact with players and coaches. You can't help not coming away impressed.

You may want to contact them about coordinating the Army trip with them. They did the exact same trip a few years ago. I loved it.

Here is their website with contact information. I think I brought this up to your step-father a few years ago.

BTW, we are getting closer and closer to February where this senior class is 23-2 over the last 3 years.

Just saying
