Men's Update
Men's Update
M. Wilson will not be back this season. The issue is really not so much academics as much as real life issues to work through. I wish him well and look forward to seeing him on the court next season.
The good news is that Ed Porter tells me that he will be making his debut on Wednesday.

Hopefully, he can work out his issues. Saw your headline TMH, I wasnt looking forward to opening it. Will he stay in school?
Glad Porter healthy again. He cant replace Marques but he can help a lot.

I don't know. My guess is that he is back home right now (just a guess). GPA is fine. Hopefully he works through some things and is back with us in the fall.
Like I said in another post, some times we focus on these young men and women as players and forget they are people too.
As for Porter, it will be interesting exactly what role he will take on. I haven't seen him play enough to grasp what his skill set is. Hopefully he can play tough defense. He has the length and looks athletic.

Wasn’t the situation due to academics ?

I really don't like discussing personal issues on a public forum. Suffice it to say that the latter has had an impact on the former. GPA is fine.
Re: Men's Update
Fair enough. Hope he gets right.
Re: Men's Update
IIR, Porter an inside player. Rebounds. Picks up garbage points. Hopefully can get us more offensive rebounds.

Re: Men's Update
At his best Porter is a hustle/glue guy. Some of his better efforts last year were 8 points and 5 boards in 20 minutes against Princeton and 7 points and 4 boards in 26 minutes against MSM. Shot a bit over 50% from the floor, but in limited attempts. I also recall Reed lauding his communication on the defensive end. I think best case for Ed and the team would be 12-18 minutes per game bringing hustle, intensity, and communication. Set the tone for effort and be a nuisance to the opponent while spelling Andree or even a few minutes as an undersized 5 against small lineups.
