A Must Read (IMO)-Women's Basketball

With all the talk on other threads about the demise of college sports with transfer rules, coaching changes, slimy recruiting and the objectification of athletes, Lehigh Women's basketball shines brightly as to what college athletics ideally should look like. The above article portrays this program to perfection.

We may bicker and debate whether Sue uses the right combinations at the right times or develops her players to their fullest potential because that's what fans do. What is beyond debate is that Sue and her staff are able to recruit the athletes who fit Lehigh the best in terms of athletics, academics and commitment to society. There never seems to be a transfer problem since she has a created a family atmosphere that keeps them home. If players do leave, it's because they graduate early and take there new found skills to the outside world or to graduate school. The team GPA is routinely around the highest in the country. Her athletes are encouraged to get involved while on campus. They typically choose tough majors and thrive on it and when they finally do leave, they regularly come back to visit their old home.

In this time, where we tend to focus on the negative, I just thought it would be good to accentuate the positive.

Merry Christmas everyone and Go Lehigh.

That is a great story.
The Morning Call has one too on how the six Minnesota players ended up in Bethlehem:
