Talent deficiency is one thing, lack of effort is a whole different elephant in the room right now. The latter is becoming more of a concern....

Re: Monmouth
First time I’ve seen this year’s edition and it’s patently obvious the carnage that was left behind the Gilmore administration. Honestly seem very small and not so fast. That’s a tough combo for football. Only a couple of playmaker types. They just don’t have the players to compete at this level. At least 3 years away.Go Lehigh TU Owl wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 3:17 pm Monmouth 42 Lehigh 8:35 3Q

'Pards haven't had a winning record in 14 years (Tavani ugly ending/Garrett debacle) yet Troxell seems to have the 'Pards humming in year two. Good coaches/competent administration support allow for quick turnarounds in the PL.
Now that it's league play from here on out, when does the progress become tangible? Sadly, I'm seeing a regression...

Re: Monmouth
After hearing results of other games so far today, this season could be one for the books.
Is it possible we could win only one game this year?
I think last time that happened was in 1967 under Fred Dunlap in his third season. He was 1-8 and 0-9 in his first two seasons (after two one-win seasons under Mike Cooley).
At least the 1967 team was competitive, losing eight games by a total of 88 points. I think largest margin of loss was 23. That team's lone win was vs. DIII Ithaca.
DIII sounds like the place to play for now. (Muhlenberg's 4-0.)

Muhlenberg has better athletes.

Re: Monmouth
You are correct. Nate Milne recruits the hell out of 100 mile radius of Allentown. Gets 1 star and some 2 star recruits who are mostly 2 inches and 30 lbs too light for their positions. Then he gets them to Muhlenberg and runs that program like it is an FBS Program. He builds them up. Discipline in every respect of the game. Winning mindset.
Lehigh f-up in not hiring that guy. Lehigh always with mindset of Ivy wannabe. Always picking the easy rather than the right choices for Presidents, Deans and Coaches. It has become a God awful institution of weakness and mediocrity.

Re: Monmouth
MU got their act together and showed up to play. Lehigh didn't and gave up after the pick 6.
