Holy Cross

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Holy Cross had almost 18k in attendance last week for a thriller W vs Fordham. Will be interesting to see what they draw this weekend but likely the most hostile environment Lehigh will face this season.

Also, anyone else remember when Lehigh played games that matter and had real crowds? Good ole days.

Maybe the second-most hostile atmosphere Gilmore will face. But at Goodman there are a lot fewer people.

Has there ever been a better setup for Lehigh to catch Holy Cross sleeping? HC just came off an emotional 53-52 game and kids are kids. Chesney has his work cut out to keep them sharp this week. (This is for those of you who still have hope)

It's hard to believe that the Lehigh football team is now the cellar dweller of the Patriot league. Both Gilmore and Sterrett should be held accountable.

I respect your optimism and loyalty but Cross could win with its second unit. Lehigh Is SO under prepared HC could sleep walk to a 40+ win. I feel awful for these kids and Gilmore should be ashamed and humiliated

Not just the patriot league cellar…. But the cellar of all FCS football. Not kidding… for consecutive years Lehigh has literally ranked among the worst teams in the country.

Here’s the good news… Gilmore and the band of merry misfits can’t continue coaching Lehigh forever. At some point, we will move on. I have a bottle of Pol Roger waiting.

“Gilmore should be ashamed and humiliated.”

You would be. I would be. But Gilmore…. Who knows.

The answer to that question could reveal a lot about the man.

Gilmore is who he is. He has a long history of mediocrity, so presumably he is used to it at this point.

Seems like Sterrett is really the one who should be embarrassed by the current state. Virtually no one was excited about his hire. I went back and read the board archives around the Gilmore hiring announcement, and it was 80% negative at least. He was, and remains, on an island on this one.

Can't fault Gilmore for getting Lehigh to pay him to do exactly what he has proven capable of.

Great point… Gilmore clearly won on this deal in spite of the team’s record.
