Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Thks 808. Also plays lax. Very high academic. A tweener size wise for DL. D2 offers. A bit surprised at the lack of offers. Fast, hard nosed and athletic.

He's from my neck of the woods. Bucknell grad Paul Marranca (Joe's grandfather?) is a coaching legend at Wyoming Area. He's famous for the "Marranca Shift". Joe has been a darn good player for an always good Warrior team. They won a state title recently and always challenge themselves in the OOC.

If Joe follows through with his commitment this is a good pickup for Lehigh.

Why would you make a negative comment like, “if he follows through with his commitment”? He is very fortunate to get an opportunity to play Division 1 football, at a great school like Lehigh

Why would you interpret a comment based on the reality of recruiting/college decision making both historically and in THIS era as negative?

I NEVER took recruiting particularly seriously given the variables involved. Now, it's even more of a crap shoot. If nothing else, it's basically a one year commitment so there's a good chance he will need to be re-recruited after his freshman year.

Fordham's heir apparent to Demorat just up and left for Harvard a week or two ago. He was committed....until he wasn't....

Unfortunately, your observation is all too real in "today's world". I find the word "commitment" to be one of the most abused and misused words in today's society, beyond collegiate athletics. People are reluctant to "join" any kind of organization that requires a 'commitment'....They will join as long as it is convenient and serves their personal purposes. I will say this, I have been impressed with Coach Cahill's efforts to create a new culture of interdependence among the players with strong team building drills. A lot tougher today than when I was kid (a long, long time ago (;-) ).
