This was a possible trap game for us. Glad we survived it.

I missed the game, but was able to catch part of postgame show. Comments were basically that Lehigh showed how good they are because they were able to play a bad game and still win. 11/14 from three point land will cover up a lot of deficiencies. Any game with Laughyette can be down to the wire. The rivalry transcends all sports and the team could have had some let up after WVA game and seeing they were going against a 3-8 team. Glad they survived. Too bad this was scheduled with at the students gone. Could have had well over 3,000 tonight.

We out shot them. We won. Neither team played much D. We rebounded well. Notice Karnik and Lynch had 11 and 10 mins respectively.
Guess we'll move up in natl 3 pt rankings. :D

give the spotted ones some credit, they played with a lot of grit and hustle, if they continue to play that way they will win their share of PL games

on an other note, Buffs came back from 24 down to beat Cadets on a last second basket

I'm not sure how anyone can say that Lehigh played a bad game. We shot 58% from the field, 79% from outside and 95% from the FT line. Pat Andree was a monster.
To me the difference was perimeter defense. Lafayette elected to play their man tight on the perimeter and force Lehigh to take contested 2 pt shots. On the other side, rapid ball movement by Lafayette and a much looser man coverage allowed Lafayette to take open 3 point shots. There were several points in the game where Lehigh had more baskets but Lafayette had more points. The PL is all about the perimeter. In order to succeed, we need to play with the same defensive intensity as we did last February.
For the record though, I pretty much agree with the Lafayette fans. Their team played a whale of a game and the referees may have decided the game. Lehigh made 17 of 18 FT in the second half alone (crunch time). Lafayette only shot 8 making 7.

Two things are apparent. The Pards have a very young but talented batch of shooters. And we have big trouble underneath if we have to go inside for offense. We needed J. Wilson and Pat Andree to play 5 and 4 respectively. Jeameril played a key 20 minutes with 6 points 4 assists and 3 rebounds. And Pat with 23 and 13. The reason we won was a ridiculous 11 for 14 from three and 19 of 20 on the line. In general we were flat on our feet for much of the game. But we'll take it I'm sure. See you Sunday for Loyola.

jimk,
I looked for you but Section 16 was filled with brown Lehigh shirts :-)

It's a matter of pick your poison. J. Wilson and Bennett were brought in to add defense against the Lafayeete guards. When that happened, Lafayette took the ball inside and for the most part scored easily. Like you however, I would rather give up a contested 2 instead of an open 3 to this team.

Question: What is Tim Kempton doing now? I think I'd love to see him work with our big guys in some capacity.

On July 27, 2018, Kempton signed with the Greek team Kolossos Rodou for the 2018–19 season.
