Little This..Little That and a Question

First the bad news. I appears Ed Porter who was just getting ready to come back has re-injured his shoulder.

Now the good news...It appears that Pat Andree who is set to graduate in 3 years, will be returning next season. He found a grad program that he was looking for.

And the question...CJ McCollum graduated in 2013. Is he now eligible for the Lehigh Hall of Fame and jersey retirement? Has anyone heard of something being in the works? I thought he had a decent career here at Lehigh :-).

Hard to retire the jersey of someone who barely played his senior year. :D

I am not the expert you guys are, but would Kempton be on track for /number retirement in 4 years? Would that not mean, ideally, 2 guards and 2 forwards retired, meaning we are missing a legendary center?

I also heard this McCollum fellow had a decent career. Maybe just a coincidence but I haven't noticed uniform #3 issued to any Lehigh basketball players lately.

Rich-B,
I'm no expert either but I think Kempton is/was the prototypical center.

Kempton one of the best centers ever, but probably not more deserving than some others, Falkenbach and Fortune for example

of course you have to be old like me to remember those guys

Greg graduated with my class in '72 and was the best rebounder in Lehigh history. Bob Fortune was a year or two ahead of us in school. Bob looked like one of the motion picture "Transformers" while playing. He was a huge physical force on the court in contrast to Greg's grace and technique. Both are in the Lehigh Sports Hall of Fame. CJ and Tim will no doubt get in there in my opinion. But will #3 (CJ) and #32(Tim) eventually go up high at Stabler with Polaha and Queenan as retired numbers? To me CJ goes up for sure, with 2 NCAA appearances and one of only 3 ever Patriot league round of 64 wins. Tim? I'm not so sure.

Polaha and CJ are obviously our all time guards.

Queenan our all time small Forward.

I would assume Kempton is in there somewhere.

If the fifth guy were Bob Fortune, Kempton would obviously be the Center,

If Fachenbach were the 5th, he would be the Center, and Kempton forward.

I also am '72 or am I '71 (not Sure)

We had another team make the NCAA, (about 1995-2000?) I assume they might have someone under consideration for all time, if not retired jersey

What is interesting is that our BB team typically is no more than 3-4 guys from Pa NJ, But 3 of the 6 best guys, (that I know of are local. ACC, Becahi, Pottstown.) - pretty sure Fortune was from Mechanicsville, NY, Upstate, near(50 miles) Albany.

Who was from Pottstown?? That is my hometown, and I don't recall any of those names coming from there. If you were thinking of Queenan, that was NORRISTOWN...Pottstown's nemesis.

No, no championships during that period. The next one after Polaha/Queenan was 2004 - and that team had no-one whose jersey is likely to be retired. Austen Rowland was the star, but he only played one year for LU.
