Penn State & other schools have affiliated organizations raising NIL money so we are not talking about local car dealerships. This is a very organized process & wrestling is part of the benefactor sports.

If you don’t think Lehigh wrestling has another recruiting hurdle to overcome with NIL, you have your head in the sand.

We do have several State champ recruits for this year & next but let’s hope we can hold onto them if they move up the flo rankings in their senior season.

Somehow NIL must get squashed by the NCAA to bring sanity back to higher education.

PS-Lehigh never had more than 32 fraternities-now 9!!

I would note that the institution and affiliated organizations, or NIL collectives as they are known, are prohibited from coordinating under NCAA rules. Regardless, I find it difficult to believe that collectives outside of those supporting Iowa, Penn State, or Oklahoma State give much, if anything, to wrestlers. Certainly not in the neighborhood of 25-100k. There's just no way when most teams compete in nearly empty gyms - no ROI. And Lehigh really isn't competing with those schools for recruits anyway, is it?

All it takes is one booster/alumni donor with deep pockets who likes wrestling...fannies in the seats don't necessarily matter when it comes to NIL......it's happening, don't kid yourself......

Sounds a little bit like a conspiracy theory absent some evidence.

Another guy that doesn’t know how collectives work. Bunch of threads on here about it. Go check it out. No car dealership necessary. In fact, basically nothing necessary.

Most of these articles are one to two years old when NIL was first emerging, and before it got involved heavily with collectives and recruiting, now it is so commonplace you barely see much written about it....
I saw one concrete figure mentioned in all of these links: $8,000 with regard to Mekhi Lewis, a junior world champ and NCAA champ. That's a far cry from 25-100k. If I'm missing something, please let me know. I don't think I am.

Show me where collectives, which I understand completely, are giving wrestlers big money.
