The other paper you reference using the same Texas data was prepared by Alexander Nowrasteh, a self described radical advocate for open borders. His co-author, Michelangelo Landgrave, is a joint fellow of the Department of Politics and the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics.

So, yes, both sets of authors are manipulating data to influence policy decisions.

The more research using data from around the Country you present was also prepared by Nowrasteh and Landgrave (the same agenda-driven “authors”!)

The interesting paper that refutes mostly regurgitates information in the previous papers you reference, and was prepared by the R Institute, which is largely funded by leftist groups the Helwlett Foundation, Energy Foundation, and the Foundation to Promote Open Society (George Soros!)

This information is easily researched and available online.

So, you came with references to “studies and papers” prepared by a very small group of propagandists manipulating data to influence policy, and I came with exposing it for what it is.
