It's believable

$10,000.00

Seven figures . . .

HFO's figures are way off. Not sure who you are talking to. AA grad transfers command upwards of $200K and a car.
Not sure I believe Starocci is getting $1MM but if that's what mookie heard, why automatically say it's false?

Let's say it is true. What does that tell us about PSU's program? A few things: it's not enough to sign over 50% of the top 20 over-all recruits, they will spend whatever it takes to win, they have a lot of scratch. They won't stop until they get 10 NCAA champs in the same year. College wrestling's version of the Evil Empire.

There isn't a college wrestler in the nation getting $600k! Again, I talk with other alumni from programs and the most common deal is a 1 year car lease and about $20k per year. If they are lucky, a few athletes pick up some local endorsement deals for about $10k a pop.

HFO is spot on.100% correct. Maybe 1 or 2 outliers.

My source on that is the man who started it all at PSU whose initials are contained in term NIL.( albeit 13 months old) From a former SID" every athlete on any roster, every team, does not have to be a starter, at Penn State gets $3000."

The NCAA allowed colleges to pay athletes a stipend in addition to tuition, room/board and books as a way of spreading the out the big bucks major conferences were bringing in via football and basketball almost a decade ago.
Obviously, Lehigh was never going to match that.

NIL is an entirely different can of worms being paid by boosters to bolster their favorite team.

That is the wall that Lehigh is up against.

I'd take anything said by a 13-month old with a grain of salt

Not positive here- but I believe that applies only to Power 5 teams.

I thought that was what I said.

Mostly trying to differentiate between stipends and NIL and how Lehigh is behind the 8 ball in both cases.

We are not as far behind as as you outline. We are not going to get 1 year transfer AA’s but Pat is in the game for young developable talent with both Stipend & NIL support.

LUEngineer: Can you confirm Lehigh is now offering Stipends as your post suggests?

I think that's where the $3000 to every member of the Penn State team is alluding to, not $3000 in NIL money. That would make sense.

If Pat has access to give out NCAA stipends up to $6500, that's a significant upgrade.
