The Line-Up
The Line-Up
For what it's worth, Wrestlestat has Stanich redshirting, Dubler starting at 165.
I wonder if this is based upon coach input or if it's just educated guesswork.

Re: The Line-Up
I really think that Stanich situation might end up much like last year where his status will not be determined until late in the season by the coaches.
This time making weight will not be part of the equation but simply his potential for placing high on the medal stand in Philly.
I think we can all reasonably assume that Hines will assume his 141 spot for duals with Luke wrestling in the open tournaments including perhaps the Midlands to test the waters against the very best at that weight.

I respectfully disagee, and although the strategy of last year was prudent,..I hate the F'in drama!LUEngineer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:49 am I really think that Stanich situation might end up much like last year where his status will not be determined until late in the season by the coaches.

This year THE-CUT should not be an issue, as he moves UP or puts on the RS as some are speculating. Again, as an OLD-TIMER, if he's healthy, and the BEST in the room at 141,..I wanna see him opening night!
Re: The Line-Up
Agree with that too!
Re: The Line-Up
There seems to be a history of athletes choosing to not compete in their "hometown". The one I remember most was a wrestler on PSU great incoming class of 1994. There was one who had copious opportunities to red shirt, and compete at BJC in 1999, but never red-shirted. (Lange?)

>>>> Stanich has certainly earned the opportunity to maximize his potential over his remaining three years of eligibility————which means redshirting this year.
Crookham clearly benefitted from his redshirt year, as did Olympian Darian Cruz, Letters, Rey, Lieberman, etc.
The basic fact is that the overwhelming majority of NCAA champs and AAs had redshirt years.
If you want more NCAA champs and AAs for Lehigh, then utilize redshirt years for the wrestlers benefit.
