+1, definitely. While it's fun to watch these guys compete, as a Lehigh fan I'd rather him get somewhat bubble wrapped until he shows up here. Weidemoyer could be a hammer.Oracle wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 9:34 am Wasn't Weidemoyer injured this past year? It would seem to me that being cautious with his return and not riskimg injury at a huge tournament, with different rules no less. As a Lehigh, fan I would hope he would recover fully and concentrate on folkstyle, as that's where his future with LU lies. IMO.

Re: 2025 Fargo
It was this statement that made it sound like you thought teams had something to do with it.
"LFCA and Beca already have guys entered so I wouldn't expect Weidemoyer or Dillard."
And again, they don't sign themselves up for Fargo. They do sign themselves up for the in-state or regional qualifiers.
I think with USA's new registration system, you can apply for Fargo but it's still up to the state to apply its own standards for acceptance. Generally, by wrestling somewhere and placing high enough.

Okay, moving on. We're going in circles and I already explained what I meant as best I could. Seems like nitpicking at this point. People have the information which was my purpose.
Re: 2025 Fargo
Eventually I got that you didn't mean it as a formal thing with the schools but it still doesn't matter. It's unlikely (and maybe impossible) for those two to enter this late on but I suspect an issue with Dillard (I have no info on the other) may have been his hand. When I saw him at NCAAs his hand was in a soft cast. Obviously by now it should have healed but perhaps it affected his training- and maybe he isn't a freestyler.
Re: 2025 Fargo
Dillard is a U-17 world bronze medalist, isn't he? I think he may be OK with freestyle.

>>>>>> Not sure on all the Olympic redshirt criteria, but I believe a U17 world medalist would qualify. I think Ziegler (top two at U23 nationals) and Crookham (top 3 NCAA) also qualify.
Not saying they should all take Olympic redshirts, just food for thought and nice to know all the options as the team adds talent.

If available, I would recommend anyone with an Olympic year redshirt should take it. Opportunity to train and develop, heal, get some school work done. What we do see at NCAA is that the extra years during COVID created more older qualifiers and All Americans. Ziegler hasn't cracked the lineup, so extra years helps him. Crookham in on long haul for BS/MS in a very difficult mathematical major of financial engineering, probably should extend for PhD in OR or go elsewhere such as Princeton, Columbia, NYU, MIT, Stony Brook for PhD in OR, Applied Mathematics or Quantitative Finance. Preference for quants is PhD anyway.
Crookham can continue his streak since high school, on a year, off a year, on a year schedule.
Re: 2025 Fargo
Since there is probably quite a bit of cross-pollination between the two wrestling sites, I thought I would add this here too
125 Natalia Accorsi #28 ranking
145 Julia Fongaro
155 Cameron Millsaps
155 Angelina Jiang #10
160 Paige DeCaro
170 Brynn Shepardson #18
In addition Brenda Banks #4 who has been rumored as coming to Lehigh next year will be participating at 235. Of interest, the girls ranked #1 and #2 (both graduated from HS) will be there.

Don't do that.
