125 has NEVER been in the equation for McG...

McGonagle’s roster info over the years:
2019-20: (FY/FR) 133/141
2020-21: (SO/FR) 141
2021-22: (JR/FY) 141
2022-23: (SR/SO) 133
2023-24: (5th/JR) 133
2024-25: (6th/SR) TBD

McGonagle is tough to bring down & a great rider.
Sorry, don't see McGonagle beating Hines..... Hines is also a pretty good rider and has length advantage, better from neutral and while not a huge 141 has grown into being a respectable sized 141.....

In their first year at Lehigh Hines wrestled McGonagle 3 times ....lost 5-1, then won by MDF, then in their final bout at end of season Edinboro Open Hines won by fall late in the first period......

McGonagle record at 141 against D1 opponents over length of his career is 22-25

Hines career record against D1 opponents at 141 is 38-19

Are we a better team with McGonagle at 141 and Hines at 149? Maybe, again though Hines would then be a undersized 149 and we would be weaker at 141 (in my opinion)........

McGonagle is just in an unfortunate spot......and don't get me started on Stanich.....

**** I didn’t ask for McGonagle’s weight history, I just asked how hard a cut 133 is for him.

McGonagle actually ended his first season at Lehigh wrestling 149 at the Mat Town Open II going 5-2, but the competition was...... considerably below stellar.........

I have no way of knowing but with his weight history I would think he has gotten comfortable making 133 but would also guess it takes some serious weight management (i.e. not easy).......

McGonagle's way of wrestling to me lends itself well to wrestling "down" at 133, as we've seen in the past I don't think that strategy works as well at 141 where guys are bigger/longer.....

and none of this is a knock on McGonagle, the kid has worked hard to find what works for him and manage his weight to become a top 10 wrestler at 133.......just now in an unfortunate spot

Excellent explanation from the organizer of the JOURNEYMEN, and his choice of format(POOLS), that do not necessarily provide all the marque bouts we would like to see,.. but WETS-THE-WHISTLE! :o

https://www.flowrestling.org/events/111 ... g=11448992

As a Lehigh fan the two bouts that would have satisfied my craving did happen in the POOL, Hidlay/Beard, and Crookham/Vito, which we'll respectfully refer to as the AGONY & the ESCTASY!

Personally I was MIA, but have watched some replays. Anyone care to evaluate the venue, price of ticket, hospitality, etc. It appeared to me that there was seating just on the ONE side of the gym, but you could park your ass standing, next to any mat, and hang-out. 8-)

I forget how upstairs was laid out but downstairs normally has pullout bleachers on each side. No room for that. The only seats were what you saw- a small alcove on the far side from the main entrance.
I got in for nothing and had food and water brought to me but ... ;)
