Thanks, JAD.

For RPI - Wrestlestat has a pretty good breakdown of predicted RPI at https://www.wrestlestat.com/rankings/rpi.

The site indicates the minimum number of matches for an RPI rating is 15. Josh won't need it to qualify. It would be nice to get it for seeding criteria, but not essential.

So the 3 guys who had to wrestle this Year Humphrey, Sisselberger, Samuelson doing so

2 guys who might have scratched out another year, moving on: Lane and Meyer. (I gather Meyers injury was not just year ending but career ending.

Burkhart and Eli Jones definitely could have had another year.

The Surprise will be Paul Watkins. 2 years eligibility left and a shot at being the man at 157 bext year.

I wonder if any of those 3 will be wrestling next year. At least 10 EIWA teams they cannot wretle for.

I would think for your average or backup wrestler there is a big difference between staying in school a 5th year to lighten your load or do graduate work versus staying a 6th year (and yes I mean more than just a years time going by)............Heck I would have wanted to stay in college at Lehigh for 10 years but not if it meant I had to cut weight and wrestle hard every day while taking classes just to be a backup with little to no chance of ever starting......

Plus you are adding on cost/debts, even IF you have a good scholarship still at that point with the University......

I suspect there will be several who move on. As Spladle points out -- no need to add debt.

A winning percentage of 55-60% against our schedule is respectable, but not really competitive. If it's not in the 75% and over range, then staying on is maybe not a good idea for the program. Let someone else see if they might improve on the success rate.

Let's hope Lehigh stays active in the transfer portal. Samuelson and Beard have helped tremendously, and it would be nice to add another two or three just like them.

most obviously at the two middle weights.

There was a time when we could grab athletes from the service academy prep schools. Maybe they do abetter job now of only selecting guys who really want to go military.

I agree with Mookster that Lehigh should continue to utilize the transfer portal on a selective basis. Santoro & staff showed outstanding recruiting chops bringing in Beard and Tate.

Lehigh does not have a wrestler in the top 8 per Flo’s latest EIWA rankings at 165/174 and I don’t think we have someone coming off a strong redshirt season ( like Seymour-125) at those weights. Maybe Logan, Thayer, Frinzi, Herceg etc can take a step up.

I’m thinking 184 could have Davis, Rodgers and others in the mix next year

Lightweights should be a strength next year with returning starters plus Crookham, Seymour etc coming off redshirt.
