Journeyman on 11/12
Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Nice win by LIU over Buffalo 19-11. Coach Patch added Jesse Dellavecchia as an assistant as well as grad student Corey Connelly (Rider) at 174. The Sharks are definitely improving, which is nice to see.
Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Personally, I was somewhat shocked that Stanich was going 125 at Princeton. He was always listed at 133.
However, this is not devastating. The future holds so many unknowns. Stanich, I assume, may still function as an insurance policy in case Seymour gets seriously hurt. Pulling him off red shirt much like Brignola a couple of years ago. An abbreviated stint at 125 may be doable. McGonigle has another year of eligibility but he is already a grad student, I believe so his return is not definite. Crookham's future weight nor his health are sure things. Remember he won the PIAA at 138 in his senior year.
Just some food for thought.

All true but it is not good to have your best wrestlers and incoming recruits mostly based around 1 weight class and hoping they can move elsewhere in lineup…..especially with troubles we are having at other weights….
Re: Journeyman on 11/12
How do you propose avoiding that? Did anyone suspect McGonagle's success at 133? Do you not recruit Crookham or Stanich?
I understand the angst but what ever happened to steel sharpens steel, talked so much about here.

Maybe good the mee is at Freedom, even if I did not get a ticket.
If it were in Troy, I might gone up early to see the football game.

Re: Journeyman on 11/12
McGonagle isnt the problem, I think most of us thought he could be a high quality wrestler at 133 given his pedigree, just wasn’t big enough to be a “high” ranked 141….….
More focus on recruiting middle weights? I mean hey, we’ll take every good wrestler we can get but there seems to be a disconnect at getting the “stud” 149-177 wrestlers…..or I should say getting them and keeping them….
Steel does sharpen steel….. but not good if all their ideal weight/frame/size is the same…..
Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Actually, there's a boatload of middleweights on Lehigh's roster. Some are better than others.

Agree with Spladle.
