Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Does everyone see McGonagle/Crookham a toss up tomorrow & winner could get Vito!! Great early season benchmark for either one.
i think whoever ultimately goes up to 141 bumps Hines to 149 soling the 149 mystery starter.

Of note in the FBall game, Garcia had carried the ball 3-5 times last week. zero carries this week. Just not Can he stay healthy for wrestling, but not Football.
I gather his football eligibility will end Lehi-Laf of 2024, but wrestling Spring of 2026 for wrestling. So could he be a one year 197 pounder 25-26.

Right, he'll be razor sharp after taking 4 years away from the mat.
Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Wasn’t McGonagle a 141 when Crookham was signed? Answering my own question, McGonagle’s roster info:
2019-20: (FY/FR) 133/141
2020-21: (SO/FR) 141 (Crookham declares)
2021-22: (JR/FY) 141 (Crookham signs)
2022-23: (SR/SO) 133 (Crookham defers)
2023-24: (5th/JR) 133
2024-25: (6th/SR) TBD

>>>>>>> Some posters are looking at 133 backwards.
Multiple AA quality guys at 133 is a situation virtually every coach and program would like to have.
The challenge, at this point in the season, is not having a top 33 ranking at every weight.
This will change as the season progresses and I believe the team, if healthy, will have 8-9 NCAA qualifiers and 3-4 AA candidates by March.

He only will get 11 months in the room before he would be able to step into Beards spot. If he can only get to 285, I would not expect him to beat Taylor. Maybe won't quickly be HEW like a lot of 6, and even 5 year wrestlers.

Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Baffling logic, I mean we are battling to be top 33 at mutiple weights but we should be thrilled we have multiple top guys all at 133…… you think when we wrestle other teams in a dual we can ask them to wrestle 3 matches at 133 and skip 165 and 174?FloridaGuy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:09 pm >>>>>>> Some posters are looking at 133 backwards.

Also if Seymour is already wearing a full hand/wrist wrap on Nov 5th what happens if it gets worse and Stanich can’t make and hold 125?
Your grass is always green commmentary is mind numbing….
Re: Journeyman on 11/12
Taking a look at our roster at 165-174, Lehigh currently has a 2X PA Champ-Lawrence (3,1,1,2), a 2 X New York champ-Logan (2,2,4), a 2X New Jersey Champ-Mays. We also lost a 2X PA state Champ to no fault of our own.
At 149, Grungo is a NJ state champ, Repos is a 4 X state place inner in PA (4,7,2,3) Reinsel is a 3X PA state place winner (4,4,2). 157 is in good hands with Brignola.
The problem may not be in recruiting but in development for one reason or another.
Again, just my opinion.

Re: Journeyman on 11/12
You guys are jumping all around to evade the main point, look at who we have, look who’s coming in….. we are not even close to having any balance…..we cannot afford to have 3 to 5 of our best wrestlers at one weight.
What Logan/Lawrence were when recruited means little at this point, their previous success has not translated to college success, they have both been in program for multiple years and have for the most part not sniffed top 30 and no one beat them out this year? So we now have a badly unbalanced team….when you look at who’s coming in what will change that (good wrestlers all but look at their weights)….
Anyway go Lehigh…..still a huge fan, always will be…..
