Remember Gimp's 3 favorite schools are St LAWRENCE, Bishop MOEller, and Archbishop CURLY

But if there were a Monsignor SHEMP

What are takedowns in college but not in PA high school state finals? I didnt see match would like some clarification on what that looks like.....seems like refereeing wouldnt miss 4 takedowns in a state final match....

Hand down from rear standing. Out of bounds issues. Danger positions.
But, we'll have to wait for Rich-B here.

That's why I listed it. It's a college rule of recent origin.

Wow, i thought PA wrestling was more advanced than that.... been a takedown in NY since my boys were in high school which was over 7 yesrs ago now....as soon as the fingers touch 2 points

Spladle,

I mentioned a while back that Lehigh got a HWT from New York whose name I can't remember. Do you happen to know who it is. I think he wrestled around 187 last year and moved up.

Not sure we're talking about the same thing although NY always went off on their own. The issue is no reaction time not just being in the position.

Art. 2. Hand-Touch Takedown. To award a takedown, reaction time is not
required in instances in which a wrestler has rear-standing neutral control of
their opponent and from the standing position the defending wrestler's hand
comes in contact with the mat. (See Illustrations.)

Reaction time. Requiring some amount of weight to actually be supported by a hand. Pa is slow to accept change

Also,of course, there were a couple of how did Taylor not get taken down there?

I'm sure that if this were college, Taylor would have wrestled differently. He just played within the rules they gave him :-)

Congratulations to both Taylor and Edmondson on a fine tournament.
