I think I stopped my report on Meyer, when gp gave a 1-word answer (mono). He got mono in Dec then when they were thinking he was back in Jan, they discovered a common side effect of mono: a swollen spleen. Pat reported to donors that he was done wrestling.

I can't say 'I told you so' about reporting Logan told me in Nov "no chance" about cutting ... can't say it, since that's what McGonagle responded same way when I asked about 133.

I confess I got grumpy about 174, too, but rather than mope, I did some research Sat nite:
Improve on bottom? He escaped in both 1st and 3rd.
In 5 bouts since his 1st 20-11 LMD, Jake has lost to Ben 6-5 (ncaa); 8-5; 4-3; 7-5 (eiwa); 7-5.
That’s solid wrestling & coaching effort when you're 26-32 (EIWA 4,5) vs. 51-15 W/L mark/EIWA 1,3

He did give up a riding time point in the match, however, so getting out on bottom was again a problem....and none of this hides the lack of production from a guy who has been in the room for 4 years now......he is definitely an undersized 174....that said if there was a better option in the room I'm sure that person would be on the mat......

Don't recall ever saying he wasn't doing any of this or hadn't reached his ceiling at 174.....

Bailey and Logan are the "Close but no cigar" - and "close only counts in horseshoes" kids on the team.

>>>>>>>>>>> Logan has definitely improved since their first bout. I don't agree it means 'solid wrestling & coaching,' although 'effort' is accurate....the record stands at 0-5 and no amount of sugar-coating changes that.

My pre-Army post pointed out Logan gives Pasiuk trouble -- although the Cadet always seems to get a TD when it's needed.

I think perhaps the answer is clearly Logan has peaked out at 174 at less than he desires & not for lack of effort. So considering 4 years in the room, will he end his career or decide to bite the bullet to cut to 165 & attempt to reinvigorate his career for his final 2 years of eligibility or even 1 year?

This all sounds fair/reasonable, even for over-protective me. I do feel Pasiuk as EIWA 1 clearly outranks an EIWA 4,5, so it still impresses me they've narrowed the gap vs a guy with way fewer training room options. But Interesting that no one has cited Jake as #47 I-Mat during his hs sr year but we all know you can only ride those trains so far. Light 'em, daddy, see what tomorrow brings

Wow, so you’re that guy right now. LUEngineer you’re comparing our guys to the military standards but funny how you don’t mention anything about the guys with beards stepping onto the mat??? Last I checked Malyke was recruited to beat them, not look like them.

You were that one guy after the Army dual that came up to Malyke shaking his hand and congratulated him so happy to meet him.

Bet you never even served 😆 our country…
