Re: Key Early Bouts
Currently floarena is showing Jake at 14 vs Pasiuk at 3. Anybody know which one is correct?
Re: Key Early Bouts
You're right and that's an awful matchup for Logan.

There was a bout missing from the OPC that gave Clearie a leg up in the seeding tiebreaker for 13/14.LU in the Hub wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 11:11 am Currently floarena is showing Jake at 14 vs Pasiuk at 3. Anybody know which one is correct?

You seem to be informed on what happened in the smoke-filled room. Can you explain why Glory/Yianni/Humphreys are #2 seeds? There was chatter that the EIWA followed the NCAA rules, but that doesn't explain it.gimpeltf wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 1:48 pmThere was a bout missing from the OPC that gave Clearie a leg up in the seeding tiebreaker for 13/14.LU in the Hub wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 11:11 am Currently floarena is showing Jake at 14 vs Pasiuk at 3. Re: Key Early Bouts
Per Lehigh Wrestling website article today:
Tournament pre-seeds were announced Tuesday afternoon. Seeds will be reviewed Friday following a meeting of the league's head coaches and will be locked in at weigh-ins Saturday morning.
Gimp and JDA seemed to say previously that this has already happened and nothing was changed.....and I believe/am not questioning them..but maybe something changed since then?.....
Realize this doesn't answer your question just thought you might find it interesting.....if you're looking for more information on it Austin Sommer just released an interesting EIWA Championship Preview article which breaks down seeding criteria on Intermat.....

There were about 18 or more smoke filled rooms. (17 plus Nighman, all in Zoom)NothingMeaningful wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 3:49 pmYou seem to be informed on what happened in the smoke-filled room. I don't know the actual NCAA seeding. One of the coaches is on the natl seeding committee and my understanding is that it is modeled after it.
There are sliding scales for points for CR, RPI and WL Pct.
And points for quality wins (anyone ranked or in RPI)

Re: Key Early Bouts
Would it be safe to say that the percentage of seeding "points" allocated for RPI is much higher than used for NCAA seeding (IIRC 10%), and that is the only reason for the three complete anomalies? Is the EIWA seeding process documented *anywhere* publicly?gimpeltf wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 5:04 pmThere were about 18 or more smoke filled rooms. Re: Key Early Bouts
Read Sommer’s article, you can read the seeding info before the paywall hits, if you don’t have Intermat….

Re: Key Early Bouts
I had. Too bad he couldn't do better than "Each wrestler receives points, based on parameters like number of wins, number of quality wins, RPI ranking, and allocating a spot for the conference, among other things." And he couldn't quantify these things as to their weighting in the criteria.Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 5:15 pm Read Sommer’s article, you can read the seeding info before the paywall hits, if you don’t have Intermat….
So my questions still stand.
