Hard to for the NCAA to take the position it was OK for Jordan but not for Josh.

And especially hard for the NCAA if there are other wrestlers with situations like Jordan’s.

Will be interesting to see how this turns out.
It was ok for Josh. If he wrestled that year like Jordan did. I'm not suggesting I know what they have in mind but the situations are not congruent. Jordan wasn't going to wrestle that year until they found out for sure it wouldn't count against his clock.

I find it hard to believe NCAA would react well towards the Josh/Lehigh position unless they first make that decision in favor of a couple of P5 schools first. Their has been only one NCAA post season matchup made in LU's favor, LU v Duke, and that is because the Duke Athletic Department wanted it.

Interesting bit of trivia according to flo:

Humphreys' bracket was the toughest of the 20 in the tournament. Contained the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 8th place finishers.

Even the weakest half-bracket has to produce a second and a sixth. (would the weaker bracket necessarily have someone in the 7-8 bout? - Don't think so but have not checked.

Anybody know if there's a date or time frame in which the powers that be must or typically do rule on eligibility questions?

No. Looked back at last year and the first two weights both had 7/8 from bottom half.
