Congratulations to Josh Humphreys
I don't like his style, but never doubted his talent and his grit.
Kinda like Preisch, I could never figure out how anyone ever beat him with all that power.
Congrats on becoming an All-American. Can't say I'll miss you

Sir, a pint of you finest ale, please!
Never argue with an idiot... he'll bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

JH - second best, at least, at 157
Re: Congratulations to Josh Humphreys
IMHO... had Josh reversed the result w/ AOC, it would probably be his hand raised and the B&W would've been adding another Nat.Champ picture in the hallway...

I thought that I heard ESPN announcer state that Josh could have another year. If he does, please stay away from the transfer protocol.Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:57 pm Well hopefully you won’t have to not miss him next year, we shall see….

Re: Congratulations to Josh Humphreys
How could he get another year? He competed for 4 full years with another year off to heal up rather than take a normal red shirt year.Lehighsam wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 7:39 pmI thought that I heard ESPN announcer state that Josh could have another year. At any rate, really happy to see Josh get on the podium this year. He wrestled great!
Re: Congratulations to Josh Humphreys
Yes, It was said by the ESPN announcer that Humphreys told him that he was coming back for one more season. I certainly hope so. He shows what tough is all about. I oils care less about style. It’s about winning and Josh is a winner.

I don't get it either but who am I to complain and this is the NCAA. The compliance manual is 500 pages of gibberish normallyLU in the Hub wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:23 pmHow could he get another year? Now add in a dose of COVID for good measure and what do you have?

Re: Congratulations to Josh Humphreys
>>>>>>>>I’m far from an expert on the process for Josh to get another year of eligibility, but my thinking:
Josh has only been in three NCAAs due to the COVID cancellation.
The ‘free’ Covid year when Josh was out with an injury was supposed to not count toward eligibility. Guys are getting a redshirt yr, a Covid compete year, and 4 regular years ( which is how Wood earned 5 EIWA titles).
The Ivy guys that did not wrestle that year were not docked.
Seems fair to me ( obviously I’m biased) that Josh should not have the Covid injury year count toward his eligibility so color me hopeful.
