and tax free as well. Completely insane.

Hey 1/2 nelson: Tuition room and board for '23-24 school year is only 80k. Where do you think any monies would come from?
As for the endowment,
The Investment Office manages both endowment and university assets of approximately $2.0 billion. The Endowment serves as a key source of funding to the University each year, providing for scholarships, academic programs, and faculty endowed chairs.

Thanks, JAD for posting that update for % of former wrestlers' giving level to 4.23% from the former 2 %
I get the feeling that the LU computer is counting wrestlers who quit after their freshman year - having never wrestled a bout for us. Every year I get an email: "Hey, I met __ who says he was an LU wrestler! can you confirm?"

90% of the time the answer is no - maybe some freshman bouts before 1970. Maybe none. Not likely givers.

As of 9:30 pm, the wrestling pct had risen to 5.15% according to the dude who handles my Partnership gifts, Nathan Hughes, who's been with Lehigh a bit more than a year. Quite the go-getter

>>>You guys can impress me and move the dial from 98% former wrestling athletes not giving to 95% not giving. Win yourselves over before you attempt to win the fans over and then the general alumni population.

... And so it only took a few more days to do exactly that - hitting 5.15% -while we're all left with the realization that "Wow, HFO spends $55k/yr in golf fees!"
... I assume most alumni here realize that this stat doesn't represent how many wrestling alumni donate during the rest of the year -- it's a gimmick that University run to aim for extra money. For myself, I already give $3k to Athletics annually ($2k to wrestling) so I'm not gonna jump & bark 'yes' at March Mania type. I suspect a ton of of wrestling alumni (I'm not one) have a similar reaction. To their credit, Athletics did a lot of extra jumping & barking to drum up extra support which is obviously needed in this New World cash-and-carry world of college athletics.
We won't catch up but every dollar counts. My new bark: for every post all of us make here, we should send an extra $2.

Typically, I don't give to the LU Athletic Partnership, however, when I received an email from my friend and teammate Herb Campbell, how could I refuse? Herb and I spent 3 years banging heads daily in the room. I don't know anyone with higher character than Herb.

Lehigh Wrestling March Mania Day Update

We are less than $4,000 away from unlocking the $55,000 MATCH!

We need to raise $3,960 to unlock it. Who is going to help us get there?!

Progress Tracker

Next Up! Raise $55,000 & Unlock the $55,000 Match Gift
Reach our Goal of $110,000

Donors: 120 (2nd Place)
Dollars: $50,640 (5th Place)
Alumni participation: 7% (6th Place)

There has been a lot of negativity on here about donating. How about some positivity? Does anyone want to step up and help Wrestling meet their goal? Or do you want to just continue to piss and moan and then complain when the team finishes 20th at the NCAA’s?

Pretty gaudy numbers!

84 former wrestlers averaged $961 each
96 non-wrestler donors averaged $684 each
Total raised $146,481 - $80,797 = $65,684 from non-wrestlers/fans/boosters

What I don't understand is the match......does it stop at $55,000, or does it match the $80,797?
If the total raised = $146,481 what was the match? And then what was the total/total?

Thank you if you know. No problem if you don't.

Looks like Wrestling out=performed their seed....with 185 out of 1805 total donors = 10.2%.
Wrestling is only 1 of 20 programs collecting money. 5% would be hitting your seed.
