LVWC at the U.S. Open

Post by whiz wit » Mon Apr 24, 2023 5:45 pm

Seeds just came out. LVWC's highest seeds, by far, are at 65 & 74 - Henderson & Lavallee, both seeded 2d. Also, both are listed with Titan Mercury rather than LV.

Wouldn't you want your top guys to align with your club so as to bring maximum positive exposure to your club? These guys are "resident athletes" at the LVWC. Can't get it into their contracts that when they wrestle in tournaments it will be on behalf of the LVWC?

I don't get it either. Seems very disloyal.

How many times do I need to post this? They can represent 2 clubs- a national and a local. The national will show. They're probably getting expenses from both.

Yes, they CAN represent 2 clubs. But shouldn't they be representing the club in which they're presently "resident athletes", especially when that club has a significantly lower profile than the national club?

That's not how it works. USA shows the national club. It's not a choice.

Will be of great interest to see what Spencer Lee has left in the tank. To me, he looks greatly compromised with limited lateral mobility. Suriano and Richards will most likely face off in the finals. Glory just doesn't have enough freestyle skills to make an impact.

Seymour wrestles Brendan Monn from George Mason in his first match, if he pulls out the win he gets Spencer Lee in his second match....
