Nathan Taylor just beat a pretty tough freshman from Michigan State…. Terrell. Won Michigan state title in 2021. Big guy. Nate wrestled a smart bout.

Nasir Bailey won easily over our Carter Bailey.

Henckel from Blair had his way with Max Brignola.

All this action in U20 Freestyle

Meyer Shapiro (Cornell) over Kaleb Larkin (Ariz St) 6-1. Good match. Closer than the score. Shapiro does not look big enough for 157. I’m guessing he takes over for Yianni at 149.

I guess that confirms you are never out of it in a freestyle match. Crazy comeback, nice job Jadon over Penn greyshirt Swisher

Gabe Arnold is a strong kid. Aggressive. But his strength will be negated once he gets to D1. Not tall enough.
Hey, maybe I’m wrong but he’s definitely over ranked and perhaps over rated.

A nice recruit but top 10-20 overall? I don’t see it.

Maybe time for Taylor to ditch the REY USA uniform and have LVWC spring for his own name singlets.

No one else does that.

Taylor gets a tech and now goes against the #9 seed from Iowa imminently.

Taylor gets teched by a much smaller kid with better wrestling skills and more agility and quickness who turned him a couple times. Taylor tends to lose to those types, of whom there are quite a few.

Overall, I would say that freestyle is not this team's cup of tea.

Lehigh is definitely better suited to folkstyle. Taylor did have an awesome upset victory over the #1 seed in the first round. He's got some significant potential if he can round out his game a little. That was my main takeaway from the open. And skellengers trail of destruction in greco was pretty cool too

Final thought - interesting that Beard doesn't do freestyle. His high-volume takedown approach would seem perfect. He's gotta work on endurance though for tournaments in general.

Pray that they don't go to the 3 point takedown.
