Matty Lopes
Re: Matty Lopes
Ok, I get it - so Brad does his fair share of being upset with the refs.
Joke's on me, because whiz is too cool to 'splain it

Dillon was "upset" by lower seeds in two consecutive NCAA tourneys:
2003 NCAA Consolation SF: Curtis Owen (10) dec Brad Dillon (7), 6-6 TB
2004 NCAA QF: Ben Askren (6) dec Brad Dillon (3), 12-7 OT

Re-Thinking
>>>>>>>>> I've been thinking about this for quite some time. Perhaps McGonagle was not over-ranked.
His style isn't flashy, he doesn't dominate opponents, he isn't quick like Vito or RBY (but who is?),he doesn't light up the scoreboard, and he isn't a pinner --- so that's why I originally questioned his lofty ranking. But here's the deal, after Vito, RBY, Fix and McGee -- who's better? McGonagle is very efficient, even if conservative. He'll get a TD and ride. He can get out. It's those attributes that win close bouts at NCAAs. He has the horsepower at 133 he didn't have at 141. And Hines has the gas tank at 141 he didn't have at 133.
If #5 was too high for McGonagle, it wasn't by much. So I will stipulate we have a bonafide stud at 133 and guy who projects to a high AA finish if he fully recovers.
For those of you wondering about Ryan Crookham and 133. Let him earn his spot. There are still questions about his durability, at least to me. He made the Midlands semis, then MFF out of the tournament. Not sure how many bouts he had, but it was a far cry from Nathan's Taylor's 27-10 the previous year.

Orine
Latona

Colaiocco
Ragusin

Argue with them, not me.
Re: Matty Lopes
NM: a pretty bush league post, especially not owning your own post.
These, or any, rankings are now based on NCAA results which, as we all know, exclude McGonagle due to his injury at EIWAs. He did beat Orine head-to head who's high on your list. Like I said, if he's not #5, he's close.

Re: Matty Lopes
Lehigh is fine down low and up top but are tragic in the middle. 149 through 174 they don't have anyone ranked in the top 50. What's the plan?
