Stanford Recruiting
Re: Stanford Recruiting
Coin flip between Sanderson and Koll for the best recruiter.
Re: Stanford Recruiting
Agree Rob Koll has some magic. And rightfully so.
He has east coast alliances and now can recruit California full bore....and does. Been saying for quite some time, Calif is a 1-class state and has some serious talent out there.
Stanford is an Ivy equivalent -- with better weather! Better conditions for athletes -- no arcane Ivy BS rules.
USN&WR:
#1 Princeton
#2 MIT
#3 Harvard
#4 Stanford
#51 Lehigh -- respectable but dropped from mid-30s not too many years ago.

Re: Stanford Recruiting
#1 (with a 4 1/2% acceptance rate) isn't doing too badly either.Oracle wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 11:24 am Agree Rob Koll has some magic. And rightfully so.

Re: Stanford Recruiting
>>>>>>>>Koll clearly has a proven track record attracting and developing talent along with raising money and building a program. Flo reported he was approached by OKL and said no thanks.
All he needed at Stanford was admissions help, and he’s obviously recruiting guys admissions can sign off on. Having the CA market almost to himself is also a huge plus.
Interesting to see Stanford building in the portal/NIL era while powerhouse Iowa is struggling mightily.
Despite’s reportedly plenty of NIL funds, the Brands boys looked helpless in the portal with Nagao, Griffith and Truax all turning down Iowa——while psu and Mich thrived on portal transfers.
The Iowa portal disaster was bad enough, but the ultimate gut punch was Uber recruit Chittum moving to ISU after spending a gap year training at Iowa.
ISU-Iowa could be this coming season’s top dual.

Re: Stanford Recruiting
Absolutely! BTW, I'd take Dresser over Brands if it went to tie-breakers.
Re: Stanford Recruiting
Tom & Terry got in bed with the Gotti family and it's already cost them dearly.
