157/165 Season Outlook

Post by HFO » Tue Oct 17, 2023 3:21 pm

With 133-149 expected to be a shakeout of natural 133s moving up, it is hard to argue the athletic and competitive talents that it might end up some combination of Crookham, McGonagle and Hines.

This could like put more competitors into the mix at 157/165. Mays seems to be leaning a transition year into Lehigh academics, but how he wrestles could change. Here are Lehigh wrestlers 157/165 and rankings. Not all will certify at 157, but a number of 157 could move up to challenge at 165 if they lose wrestle offs. The band is #36 to #71 in ranking which in NCAA equates to about a TD difference. While I anticipate Brignola at 157 and Logan at 165. It is by no means settle business. 2 will hold the spot, but 4 others will be on their heels the entire season. Despite neither projected now to be an NCAA Top 33, I expect given daily competition and little room for error in the room week to week that be season end both weightclasses will be ranked inside Top 30.

These 2 weightclasses likely to be the make or break for each dual.

Wrestlestat Rank Wrestler
36 Max Brignola
47 Owen Reinsel
50 Jake Logan
57 Connor Herceg
67 Luca Frinzi
71 Drew Munch
