Of substance? excellent add? We shall see……

So far in his collegiate career I don’t know if I would classify him that way…… if you look at his deferred year record (11-5) it is very similiar to Thayne Lawrence’s (15-5) during his deferred eligibility year in 21-22 …… Rogers #13 overall recruit, Lawrence #26 overall recruit……

Plus rumors are he struggles to get to and hold 184….. I would assume the coaching staff thinks he can hold 184 with the right work put in, otherwise we are a bit over loaded at 197……short and long term…..over loaded is fine as long as you don’t have glaring needs at other weights….which we obviously do…..

Worth a shot, but a lot to prove……..

Well he is in a good spot at Lehigh. They have a lot of disciplined young men. They surely can help him stay on track. If 84 was an issue. I doubt he would have picked Lehigh. Why continue the struggle. He is not the tallest. Caden looks a lot more like a 97 pounder. Michigan is a bit of a circus. Guys coming and going. Transfer U. Look at how a bunch of their own are currently in the portal. It’s crazy. Maybe it was just not the place for him. I have faith in our staff. Mach and labs to work out with. He was only a freshman at an upper weight. They were juggling him between two weights as well. Give home a break. Let him find his groove.

I don’t think it’s fair to compare anyone to Thayne. It’s hard to understand that situation. It’s a great big unknown. If you look at some of his shots. You’re like wow that was smooth. And he will use multiple different attacks. But then he will take bad shots and get taken down. You do see the glimpses of talent. But it just hasn’t come together. We do have some young guys on the roster who can challenge for that 74 spot.

A excellent add, imo, based on his hs resume, two years of experience in a quality B1G wrestling room, and targeting a weight where we need to improve.

On a side note, I’d really like to see Thayne have a healthy year.

The comparison to Thayne is not meant as a put down to Thayne as everyone on here is so quick to jump on people being negative.......it merely points out as a comparison that nothing is a sure thing, great addition, great recruit etc until they prove it at the D1 level........also pointing out Cornell's had only 1 recruit AA while Lehigh has had 3 is a fact sure but a flawed argument in defending Lehigh due to grey shirting and the better deeper tournament team that Cornell had......but we do pick out things we can try to defend in an attempt to save face........

I do find it interesting that he listed 6 schools as "finalists" on instagram when he was being recruited out of high school (NC State, Oregon State,Michigan, PSU,Ohio State, OK) and Lehigh obviously was not on the list.......does that mean the other 5 schools all saw him at the D1 level and lost interest or did Lehigh outbid/out recruit for his services? Long way to come for a kid who posts frequently about his absolute love for the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, home.......

He's a definite upgrade for Lehigh at 184 lbs. I like it.

IF he can hold 184 he probably is a slight upgrade as things stand right now.......his best win is against wrestlestat #47, Jack Wilt's best win is against wrestlestat #52 (based on when they wrestled them)......

but we all know you mainly like it because he wrestled part of his career for Blair, just saying

197 Beard
184 Rogers again
174 Schoppe
165 Carter Bailey

It's looking like our only option.
On a serious note I wonder what is the greatest range a D1 wrestler has competed at...
