I miss Denny!!!!
Didn’t they have to certify by now? We used to get who certified at each weight.
Glad there are still 50 of us in our right minds!!!

Certs are where they usually are on Track. Beard/McGonagle/Herceg/Stanich, among others, not cert'd.LUEngineer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 7:31 am I miss Denny!!!!

Not, quite. They changed the rule again recently. By 11/1.LUEngineer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 7:31 am I miss Denny!!!!

Looks like still 11 kids to go.
You can go to the OPC to see who has/has not certified by going to Trackwrestling then OPC and Teams and search for Lehigh. This is all public knowledge. However, the lowest weight class is not public (at least not here). I think the weight showing is lowest eligible currently although I've never completely figured it out. If a projected 125 certified there while weighing in at a couple pounds over it will show 133.

Re: Hawk Talk with Caden Rogers
Certs show most guys where you would expect, 1 weight class over where they will probably wrestle.....a few interesting ones:
Brignola at 174
Logan already 174
Hines 157
Thayne Lawrence 197

Jake Logan to 165? I'm skeptical. With a career record under .500, it's time to move on from expecting different results, is it not?
mookie is right about the crumbs.
It's still early. We should all know more once "wrestle-offs" are upon us.

Common knowledge that getting to the right weight is critical for wrestling success——especially at the competitive D-1 level.
Dropping a weight is a tough challenge, I applaud Logan for the effort and believe it could be a big plus for him and the team.
After watching McG’s weight cut and results last year, why are you so negative on Logan’s potential at 165?

Re: Hawk Talk with Caden Rogers
Hard to win when you don’t mat wrestle. McG is nails on top, Logan makes no attempt to ride. Dropping a weight won’t change that.
Losing becomes a habit.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FL Guy: Why would you assume my post was negative regarding Logan's potential at 165? Logan has spent 4 years at 174. I always hope each of our guys maximizes their potential. However, when I see an under .500 record with only 1 trip to the NCAAs, perhaps it's time to expand our horizons so to speak. If he makes the cut and wins the spot, then I hope he does well.FloridaGuy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 11:57 am >>>>>>>>> Reply to Oracle:

And mookie is correct in his observation of Logan's top game.
Re: Hawk Talk with Caden Rogers
The 3 point takedown may help Logan ... even at 174. I think he often kept the score close even though he can't ride worth a bean. That extra point for a takedown may make the difference in some bouts.
Re: Hawk Talk with Caden Rogers
It’s baffling as to how little effort he puts into the attempt to ride when on top. This HAS to be something that they work on in practice, and yet he often yields the escape with zero effort to ride - literally within a few seconds. Does he really believe that he’s that good from neutral?! Or is it more likely a mental block, that after this many years in the room, just isn’t going to change.
