Both Van Ness and Kasak placed 3rd at 149 the past 2 years. Kasak as a true frosh wrestling 'up.' Safe to say he had a better year than Van Ness, who peaked at NCAAs. Kasak was solid throughout. IMO, Kasak wins the spot at 149 with Bartlett returuning at 141 for one more year. Maybe Van Ness transfers. Father went to Rutgers 25 years ago.

For the sake of discussion, why not Kasak take his redshirt year, Bartlett returns for his final season (since Starocci and Kirkvliet have already announced they are coming back) and Van Ness and Kasak split 141-149 the next year. Of course, Penn State will continue to bring in top talent in the meantime.

I think you're probably right. Someone just told me Kasak cannot beat Van Ness. Bartlett back at 141, Kasak RS, Van Ness at 149. Then Kasak takes over at 141 in '26. Good call.

How about Kasak and Haines taking a RS this year, then surprise Carl by transferring to Taylor-land as soon as the portal opens? Recall that both Kasak and Haines deferred their senior season in HS to train with Taylor at M2K.

I have zero inside information but both Haines and Kasak have had enormous success at Penn State and seem attached at the hip to the institution.

Speaking of David Taylor, didn't Oklahoma State bring in Hamiti earlier this year? Perhaps OkSt may not be an ideal landing spot for Barraclaugh. Just a thought but Terrell remains the most ideal match for Lehigh IMO.

IMO, wherever Barraclough ends up, it’ll be at 157.

Well they just landed a Heavyweight. Would not surprise me at all that Taylor could get Barraclough and ask him to do the weight cut to get to 157. Oklahoma State just added a LOT OF POINTS through the portal.

Weight cut? Didn't Barraclough wrestle Josh Humphries L6-3 on 12/4/22 at 157?
